a knife with a heavy hand or a light hand?

I got a brabantia knife and it feels heavy, any idea? is this good or bad?

Common knife myth is that heavy knife cuts for you. There is a very little truth to that. Elementary physics tells us that the pressure is more dependent on the surface area than the weight.

Compared to the weight of your own hand and force applied, knife weight isn't much of a consequence, if we're talking about cutting. Unless the knife is used for chopping, as an axe style chopping the weight isn't that important. Sharp edge is far more important and that's where factory sharpened knives fail miserably.

In the end, it's more up to you. If you like how it feels in your hand then it's probably ok.

Other than that, heavy weight doesn't give you much besides extra tiredness after prolonged use...
